Kafo Jiginew (which means Union of granaries in Bambara)
Is a mutual savings and credit institution created in Mali in October 1987.
Its mission is to allow Malian populations with modest incomes (farmers, artisans, small traders) to have access to local financial services (savings, credit, micro-insurance and money transfer).
It was set up with the support of the European Consortium for Mali Cooperative Credit (CECCM) bringing together four European NGOs and the Cooperative Credit Foundation.
It benefited from co-financing from the European Commission.
Kafo Jiginew is present throughout Mali with 158 points of sale, including 128 in rural areas. With 1,500 elected volunteers
and 700 employees in 2022, more than 400,000 members benefit from Kafo Jiginew.
From its creation to the end of December 2008, the cumulative amount of credits was more than 82 billion CFA francs.
Kafo Jiginew inaugurated its head office in Bamako on February 27, 2009 in the Hamdallaye ACI2000 district in the heart of Bamako.
