Pharoah Scarab audits the apps on your phone for the fingerprints of stalkerware and remote-access tooling, and explains what it finds in plain English.

WHAT IT DOES
• Reads the list of installed apps and the permissions each one holds.
• Checks them against a transparent rule set for the patterns spyware relies on: hidden launchers, accessibility abuse, device-admin hooks, SMS and call interception, screen capture, persistent background access and known families.
• Scores the result and tells you which app, which finding, and why it matters — no jargon, no black box.
• Runs a scan as a foreground task so it completes even if you switch away.

WHY OURS
Third-party security agents are opaque and are themselves a prime target. Scarab is transparent — every rule is readable — and local-first: the scan has no egress. There is nothing to trust except what you can inspect.

HONEST LIMITS
Scarab looks for indicators, not certainties. A clean scan means nothing matched the rules, not that a device is guaranteed clean. It does not remove apps for you; it tells you what to look at and how to uninstall it yourself.

PRIVACY
Everything runs on the device. No account, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs. In this release nothing is sent anywhere. Scarab declares network access for a future, strictly opt-in report to a server that you operate; if that ships it will be off by default and the privacy policy will say so first.
