What is the Transfiguration?
The Transfiguration of Jesus is an episode in the New Testament in which Jesus was transfigured (or metamorphosed) upon a mountain and became radiant in glory. The event was witnessed by the Apostles Peter, James, and John. They are joined by Moses, Prophet Elijah, and God the Father speaking from a bright cloud. The Transfiguration is considered to be one of the miracles of Jesus in the Gospels.

Who was St. Augustine?
Saint Augustine of Hippo (354-430) was an early Christian theologian and philosopher, whose writings influenced the development of Western Christianity and philosophy. He was the bishop of Hippo Regius (modern-day Annaba, Algeria) and is viewed as one of the most important Church Fathers, especially due to his influential writings, which include The City of God and Confessions. In the Catholic Church, he is the patron saint of brewers, printers, theologians, the alleviation of sore eyes, and a number of cities and dioceses. For Protestants, especially Calvinists, he is often considered to be one of the theological fathers of the Protestant Reformation, due to his teachings on salvation and divine Grace.
