About Fuel Economy Calculator

The Fuel Economy Calculator can quickly calculate the estimated fuel cost for a vehicle. It also has a function to quickly convert MPG to L/100km, and to convert cost for $/Gallon to $/L.

The Fuel Economy Calculator has two primary functions, the Fuel Cost Calculator, and the Cost Compare function.

The Fuel Costs Calculator quickly determines the estimated cost for fuel on a vehicle using estimated fuel economy and fuel cost

Simply put into the app:
Fuel economy either in MPG or L/100km
Fuel cost either in $ per Gallon or $ per Liter.
Press CALCULATE:
Get the cost for fuel based on the information you put!
Costs get shown for 50/100/150k mi, and for 80/160/240k km.

It also has a cost estimator for a specific distance or cost.

For example, if you want to find out the estimated cost of travelling 1500 km for a road trip you have planned: simply put the expected fuel economy and fuel cost (as listed above), and 1500km, and it will estimate the cost of fuel for your trip!

It also has the option to calculate the estimated distance a certain dollar amount would take you. For example, if you have $100, simply put in the expected fuel economy and fuel cost (as listed above), enter the $100, and it will estimate the distance that $100 will take you in that vehicle!

Finally, this app also has included a Compare Cost function.

The purpose of this function is to give an estimate of the distance travelled required for a more fuel-efficient vehicle to off-set the cost of purchasing.

For example, if one car has an estimated 40 MPG fuel economy, but it costs $5000 more than another car with less MPGs, it will tell you the estimated miles/kilometers you would have to drive the 40 MPG car to the point that the $5000 would be completely offset by fuel saving! In other words, after driving that distance, the fuel savings for that vehicle all end up "in your pocket", having paid off the difference in initial cost compared to another vehicle!

Included in the Compare Cost function is the conversion tool for MPG to L/100km, as well as $/G to $/L function.

The unit for gallons in this app is based on the U.S. gallon.
