Andoff is an app that can be used to block other apps particularly effectively or protect them to a certain extent. In addition, certain device functions can be blocked (frozen) so that they can only be changed by the user with the help of a password or after a waiting period.

Features include, for example:

- Blocking installed apps (including system apps)
- Blocking safe mode
- Blocking factory reset
- Blocking newly installed apps
- Protection of apps against uninstallation and forced stop

Andoff is different from most app blockers because it uses special system management features to provide its features. These are already present in every Android device, but are usually not available to the user (and normal apps). By using these system functions, Andoff can provide protection on a completely different level than traditional app blockers can. It requires special "device owner privileges" that must be assigned to the app once.

Andoff is designed for people who struggle with various types of digital addiction and who need particularly strong protection against unwanted impulsive cravings for any type of digital content.

The app requires so-called "device owner privileges" to function. Many of the features that are essential to Andoff can only be made available if these privileges are given. Device owner privileges are the highest type of privileges that can be granted to an app (apart from system privileges).

An app with such privileges could do a great many things without the users knowing, so this type of privilege should only be granted to highly trusted apps. We are very aware of the responsibility associated with these capabilities and promise that Andoff will only use them to implement the features requested by users.

We do not read any personal information or data/pictures/videos/documents on the device and do not upload any such data anywhere. If you do not want to grant Andoff these privileges, the app will not be able to provide the advertised services. In this case, you will not be able to use Andoff and will have to find another solution that better suits your needs.

Device owner privileges cannot be granted like the usual Android permissions. Andoff must be set up either via a factory reset of the device or via the Android debugging bridge (ADB). If you install this app from the Play Store, you must use the ADB method described in this guide.
